NUR ZUM SPASS – NUR ZUM SPIEL. KALEIDOSKOP VALESKA GERT (1976/77) //

In her first biography Valeska Gert describes the events and experiences during her time in New York, where she had to enter service as a dishwasher and life model in the beginning of the 1940s until she could realize her dream of an own cabaret with the “Beggar Bar” in Greenwich Village. Various episodes of her life are embedded in the narration, from birth and childhood to her first lines as an actress and her dance’s historical origin. Volker Schlöndorff’s copy, with several handwritten comments and a personal dedication by Valeska Gert //
