His adaptation of Robert Musil\u2019s acclaimed novel becomes a surprise hit, the FIPRESCI-jury honors Schl\u00f6ndorff with the Critics\u2019 Prize. The excitement for Schl\u00f6ndorff\u2019s debut is not shared by all parties: The representation of torture and T\u00f6rless\u2019 more intellectual, passive reaction to it causes a scandal. <a href=\"http:\/\/schloendorff.deutsches-filminstitut.de\/en\/7468-2\/7416-2\/\">YOUNG T\u00d6RLESS<\/a> is regarded as the beginning of the <em>New German Cinema<\/em> and launched Volker Schl\u00f6ndorff\u2019s international career as a major filmmaker.<\/p>\n<p>To honor this special anniversary, the Deutsches Filmmuseum, Frankfurt am Main, exhibits exclusive archive material from the Volker Schl\u00f6ndorff Collection in its foyer.The virtual exhibition will sucessively present new findings from the Schl\u00f6ndorff Collection online.
